In crisis

If you are feeling suicidal or in danger of harming yourself you must reach out to someone immediately. Depression tells us there is no hope, that we can't get better. I know. I have felt that way before and know that you can get better. Please ring one of the numbers below.

It is important not to be alone
Ring a friend or family member and explain how unwell you feel. Ask them to come and support you through this crisis. Explain to them what the telephone counsellor suggested you do and ask them to help you.

Speak to your GP, Psychiatrist or Therapist
Explain exactly how you feel and ask for their recommendation. If you are unable to speak with anyone go immediately to the emergency department of your local hospital. If you have no means of getting there ring an ambulance (000).

Suicide Call Back Service
It is a free nation-wide telephone support service for those at risk of suicide (including those who have been discharged from a hospital following a suicide attempt), their carers and those bereaved by suicide. They offer up to six 50 minute telephone counselling sessions. The service operates 7 days a week from 10am to 8:30pm.
